Abstract
The low-carbon and environment-friendly magnesia cement was used to solidify the silt. The compression characteristics of the solidified silt under different ages were investigated based on the 1D compression test. Firstly, the 1D compression tests of the magnesia-cement soil under different curing ages were conducted. The test results show that the e-p curves of the solidified silt are similar to those of the original silt. Moreover, the void ratio e of the solidified silt decreases gradually with the increasing curing age. Therefore, the magnesia cement has a good filling effect on the porosity of the cured silt. In addition, the compressibility of the cured silt shows an exponential decreasing trend with the curing age. Based on the functional relationship between the compressibility coefficient and age, the Terzaghi's 1D consolidation theory was modified and the correspondent 1D consolidation model associated with the compression properties of the cured silt was established.
