Abstract:
It is difficult to obtain the hydraulic conductivity in the work of evaluating the geological hazards that are caused by seepage flow, such as landslides and collapses, especially under the conditions of complex geological structures. This paper simulates the scenarios in which the streamline is intersected with the layered heterogeneous media at any angle using the Particle Flow Code and Darcy's Law, considering that the groundwater streamline is parallel, orthogonal or oblique to the layered heterogeneous media. The simulated hydraulic conductivity is in good agreement with the theoretical hydraulic conductivity. In conclusion, we note that the method of the particle flow simulation is more practical in evaluating the equivalent hydraulic conductivity under complicated geological conditions. The results provide a theoretical basis and reference for the seepage destruction problems in engineering construction.
